Eggless Gluten free Sorghum (Jowar)Millet Cookies

GLUTEN FREE JOWAR FLOUR



Jowar called as Sorghum is a gluten free versatile grain that can be served like rice or quinoa. Packed with all the essential nutrients this grain can be enjoyed as breakfast, lunch , dinner or as a snack. The flour is obtained by grounding the whole grain.


kids love cookies and I am always trying for some healthier options. So this time I used Jowar flour instead of whole wheat or all purpose. Yes I was a bit sceptical for the end result, as this is the first time I am using this flour in baking. But the end result can be seen in the pics.

          

Ingredients:

Millet flour…..1/2 cup Jowar flour…..1/2 cup Dalda ghee or Ghee or Butter…….1/2 cup Baking powder…1/2 tsp Chopped pistachios…….1 tbsp Chopped almonds…….. 1 tbsp


Method:

  1. In a mixing bowl sieve Millet flour, Sorghum(Jowar) flour, icing sugar and Baking powder.
  2. Mix well all dry ingredients.
  3. Now add Ghee, chopped pistachios, chopped almonds and mix all ingredients together .
  4. Roll the dough with the help of cling film as I showed in video.
  5. Cut with cutter whichever you like.
  6. Arrange all cookies in a greased baking tray.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 160 degree Celsius for 15 mins.
  8. After it’s done transfer it into a wire rack to cool.
  9. Store in a air tight containers and enjoy.
